Two years later .....................

Dear Luke,

First of all, a very Happy Dragon New Year to you! I am xxxxxx, the flight steward who attended one of your Cabin Crew interview seminar
almost 2 years back and met you up again once after that. Time has really flew past since my job started then.
Just want to say hello to you and ask how you have been doing. My apologies for the belated wishes. Hope everything went great for you =)

Warmest Regards,

Hi xxxx,

It's good to hear from you. Yes time really flies.
How's work? Any regrets joining SIA?
Call me for a drink whenever you are free.

Regards,

Luke

Dear Luke,

Thanks for the concern, work has been pretty physically and mentally-taxing but even more fulfilling for me.
My only regrets are that I couldn't join the company earlier, and not enough time and money to go everywhere outstation =)

Sure I will definitely be glad to join you for a drink soon. Just confirming with you that your mobile number is xxxxxxx?

Regards,

After the 5th attempt she got into SIA

Dear Mr Tan,

I passed all rounds of the SIA interview in Dec 2011 after buying your programme and going through 1 to 1 coaching.
It was my 5th attempt after groping in the dark previously.  You're the only person who said you can help and actually helped until I was successful. For that, I'm very grateful.  Thank you very much, Mr Tan!
After I met Mr Tan, I had a 360 degree change of mindset.  I understood where I went wrong, what the interviewers are looking for and how to tackle the interview correctly.
Mr Tan is very knowledgeable about cabin crew culture and his tips-which were gathered from his own experiences-are very useful and accurate. If I didn't consult Mr Tan, I'd still be clueless.  Even if I didn't pass the interview, I still learnt a lot from Mr Tan, which will benefit me in other aspects of life.
Yours Sincerely,

Appreciation from Taiwan

Dear Mr Tan:

I purchased your cabin crew tips and talks on September, and I am writing this to you as the title said.

I am grateful to tell you that your tips really helps a lot, and made myself the most confident candidate I believe.  As the interview might be a slightly differnent from what you said, but your words are so strong that I knew only if yourself are physically and MENTALLY prepared that will makes your dream comes true.

This is the second time I apply for cx, and it's amazing cause I am the one of 200 out 6000 applicants in Taiwan, and CX rarely comes to Taiwan.

i hope you will be happy for me, and i am so excited right now, that i hope i didnt write a lot of wrong words in this mail.

Thank you again, and i am so glad i found this at the time i felt so desperate and almost give up my dream after chasing my dream for 4 years (11 interviwes with all kinds of airlines) and now i am the cabin crew in the airline that is one of the world's best.

i am really really apprecaited!
thanks a million times!!

He thought it's the end of the road until .............

I failed the interviews time and time again prior to attending your talk. Since childhood, I knew when I grew up, I wanted to be a member of the cabin crew.
I've done so much through the years for that day that I will get the opportunity to be selected to be a cabin crew. But, I failed. And failed. And then, lost hope.
I began to think that maybe, I didn't have what it takes to be one.
Then I told myself, "how bad do I want this?" "Very baddddd!"

When I attended Luke's talk, he said that he believed I will make it through! And that boosted my confidence.
Why? Because I felt that with his experience, he was able to ascertain the criteria of a potential member of the cabin crew.
I took his encouragement, tips and all the advice given during the talks and brought my regained confidence to another session of interviews.

And this time, I got throught it ALL!

Now, I am hoping to do well in training.

My advice to the rest of the cabin crew wannabes is, If you want it bad enough, show them how bad. Keep going for the interviews!

To do those who have failed, keep trying and don't give up yet. Take each interview failure as a learning experience.
But at the same time, get advice from the professionals who have been there and done it all!

Sincerely,

She is now a Cathay Pacific Airways cabin crew

Hi Luke

Just a note to say thank you for the information as it has really helped me to a certain extend for my preparation. Due to family relocation, I would not be joining SIA but i'm equally thrilled to be with Cathay Pacific. Thank you (:

He is made it at his 3rd attempt

He is the 3rd gentlemen who made it after attending my talks at the 8 May 2010 SIA cabin crew interview at Sheraton Tower. There were others at my talks who made it but too "busy" to email me.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for creating these opportunities for cabin crew wanna-bes to meet
up with you and learn from you the tips to aceing the SIA interview.
Thank you for answering for our questions during the talk.
Thank you for encouraging me when I didn't succeed in my first 2 attempts.

Finally, I made it in my 3rd attempt. You provided useful information in
your talk. If I had not attended your talk, I would likely need many many
more attempts. I am waiting for medical clearance now. No guarantee that I
will get in yet. But knowing that I have reached this far is pleasantly
enough! I have done my best for the interviews. The medical examination is
beyond my control.

To wanna-bes out there who hasn't done anything despite wanting this job so
badly, my advice is that you really have to put in efforts in understanding
what the job of a cabin crew is like. One way is to speak to someone who has
been there, done that. Mr Luke is certainly able to guide you in this sense.

All the best, people. Thank you, Sir.

Warmest regards,

ZH

He can't believe he passed all the 4 rounds

Hi Sir,
I am Kxxx from your 07th March Interview Talk. I am not sure if you would still remember who I am,
but I WILL NEVER forget you and what you have thought me then. There are so many thoughts rushing
through my mind even as I am typing this email, which I cannot find a way to really express them clearly.
But just to sum it up: I went for the 08th May interview and I MADE IT =D
I seems all surreal to me for the fact that I actually even managed to make it to, and through, the
1-to-1 interview, considering that the furthest I've progressed to for my past 3 attempts is the skin check round.
Not only that, I was able to face the management with steadiness and poise, and not faltering at any point (even
though I admit my hands were secretly trembling uncontrollably at some point). The keywords you have taught me
reaffirmed my confidence, and your lesson on SMILING braved me through the 2 trying days. Now I cannot stop smiling =D
Thank you very much once again Sir. I hope my message to you will once again be a strong testament to
the effectiveness and reliability of your talks. And as a word of encouragement to all the fellow SIA hopefuls out
there: Never give up, and Mr Tan's talk really work wonders =D
Regards
Kxxx
